Dignity and Freedom Day is not just another date on the calendar that you forget about once you tear off the page. It is a day when we reflect on the path we have already traveled in the struggle for the highest values we must never lose—Dignity and Freedom. The Maidan protests were pivotal moments when the struggle for these key values converged in time and place during mass demonstrations. However, after the victories on the Maidan, we have a duty to defend them every day through our work and civic engagement. Every day a soldier spends “on the front lines,” when the enemy is once again repelled, is a Day of Dignity and Freedom. Every day when we donate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, volunteer, and support those in need; when we work diligently for Ukraine’s development—is a Day of Dignity and Freedom. And the day of our victory will be a Day of Dignity and Freedom.
